at work, with a babysitter

I'm not sure if I ever mentioned anything, but June 11 was my three year anniversary at good old Micro Center. In those three years, I think I have had the most miserable experiences in my entire life. Thats not really saying much, I know....but its been a rough and trying three years, give me some credit. Anyways, things are starting to get rather ridiculous at work. Not that they weren't already ridiculous, things just seem to be getting worse as the days go by....

In the past couple of months, top ranking managers seem to be coming and going like its nothing. As usual, we're on yet another HR manager. For some reason, we just can't keep them around for very long. They're either getting knocked up and not coming back or they find a better job (can't blame them there...) And then theres the never ending search for a GM. Supposedly we have one, and he's visited the store (and didn't like what he saw...) but he's still down south tying up loose ends at his last store. But, with two new managers coming into the store, there has been talk of a whole lot of changes happening.

The HR manager has already been hired and supposedly has settled into her office quite nicely. She has been causing problems with her strict enforcement of company policies, which has most of the lackeys employed at our store bitching and moaning more than they already do about the slightest bit of work they have to do. But, I must confess that even I think that the few of the policies she's really sticking to are pretty much full of bullshit. This past weekend was a perfect example of just how stupid things are getting around the store....ever since I was employed by good old Micro Center, there was been what is called the grace period, meaning there was always this six minute buffer where you could clock in late and not have it count against you as an occurrance.

She's getting rid of the grace period.

Friday morning, aparently the new manager had nothing better to do with her time than to stand at the door at 8am waiting for everyone to arrive. She made note of everyone who showed up at 8:01 am or later and marked them as having a tardy occurrance. Its sad, isn't it? They can't even treat us like adults, we have to have babysitters around the store.

It's time to apply for more jobs....
